The Process
Step 1: Place Order
Take a look at the site, the gallery for past examples of my work, the FAQ page for answers to questions you may have, then submit a "Commission Form" if you're ready to begin your creative adventure.
Step 3: Painting
For my personal process, I 1) prime the shoes (if they're leather), 2) paint the design in layers, 3) incorporate add-ons, 4) let the shoes fully dry, 5) apply a coat of sealant, and 6) add a water-repellant spray.
(Canvas orders are just painting and add-ons if purchased)
Step 5: Shipping and Delivery
If you chose local delivery or meet up, you will receive the product on the date and time mentioned. If you chose shipping, they will be sent in the mail and should arrive within 2 weeks.
Step 2: Approval
Once your order is approved, you will receive an email, and another one with a complimentary draft of what I plan to do. If you like it, you can give me the green light and send the deposit. If not, you may give written changes or purchase additional drafts.
Step 4: Packing
If you opt for a customized box and / or gift wrapping, that comes next. If not, they will be put in a cushioned box for transport. This is when you will be notified they're ready.
Step 6: Review
This step is optional, but once you receive your product it would be appreciated if you could review it through the site or on social media and tag me. A review (per pair of shoes) gets you $10 off the next pair. A referral who buys a pair also gets you both $10 off future work.
Reminder!
Please review the following shoe care instruction card for advice on how to handle the upkeep for your customs.
